MMA grad helps fight childhood obesity

Beth Devine is getting Philly girls up and moving.
The founder and director of Philly Girls in Motion is determined to “reach out to girls and get them active,” said the Havertown native who graduated from Merion Mercy Academy in Merion. Devine had been working in the corporate world for years and running athletic programs during the summer. An athlete herself, Devine missed being active in full-time health and fitness work. She got herself back in shape and realized “there are so many kids that are inactive and overweight; I wanted to give back to them.”
